A Stage|Set|Scenery first – Ollie Olma interviews prominent industry figures at the LifeTime Talks on the LightLab stage in Hall 20 I Stand 210. You can be there too when Ralph-Jörg Wezorke (Lightpower) and Hannes Gerriets (Gerriets) talk about their experiences and offer personal insights into their careers.

INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF OISTAT CENTRES AND ASSOCIATIONS
 
The meeting will talk about new projects for promoting young talent, ways to obtain acceptance of qualifications, examinations and certificates, and the progress being made in establishing an international knowledge platform through qualifications, seminars and workshops.

SAFETY IN ACTION STAGE – HIGHLIGHT ON DAY 1
Under the heading ’Up in the Air’, this is the first time the three major stage manufacturers Bosch Rexroth, SBS Bühnentechnik and Waagner-Biro will be presenting their products to trade visitors on the Safety in Action stage in Hall 22, Stand 480. We also highly recommend two other presentations:

IMMERSIVE SHOWROOM – HIGHLIGHTS ON DAY 1
At the Immersive Showroom – ’Where Technology meets Experience’ in Hall 20 I Stand 100, the focus today will be on the use of new technologies in the theatre. Presentations will take place of examples of virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) being used at the Große Schauspielhaus and Komische Oper. Support will also be provided by TU Berlin, the Fraunhofer Institute and CyberRäuber. We also recommend the following lectures:

The EventManufaktur is the focal point of the Event Services section, where SWOOFLE will be providing an interactive, and diverse experience (Hall 22 I Stand 140). In addition to a tricky Escape Game, visitors can take part in fascinating lectures, including on the following:

Today, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., members of the costume-making profession can take part in a guided tour of exhibitors displaying costume-making and make-up. The meeting place for the tour is the information counter at the ’Trompete’ in Hall 21.

PRESENTATION OF THE WELTENBAUER.AWARDS 2019
An exciting event beckons: a record number of entries were submitted for the Weltenbauer.Awards 2019, and today Hubert Eckart (DTHG) will present the prizes for the best technology solutions employed by productions from 2017 to 2019. This year the young people taking part submitted works on the topic of Leonardo da Vinci. Look forward to a festive award ceremony and our surprise music act from Wales.

Stage|Set|Scenery is the leading trade show for stage, lighting, sound, studio, film, video and media technology, set design, event services, theatre planning, make-up and costume design as well as exhibition and museum technology. The International Stage Technology Conference organised by Deutsche Theatertechnische Gesellschaft (DTHG) rounds off the show.
 
The event is organised by Messe Berlin GmbH and DTHG, its non-commercial sponsor, and takes place on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds biennially in June.
